Full course description
Researches have shown a relationship between certain child rearing practices foster better mental health, greater empathy and conscience development, and higher emotional intelligence in children. In this workshop, Mr. Lee Ho, will share that we can create a genuine empathic connection with our children when we are brave enough to really get in touch with our own fragilities. Workshop participants will learn that empathy and sympathy are not mutually exclusive, nor are they always felt in tandem. The basis for both sympathy and empathy is compassion, a blending of understanding and acceptance of others that can be seen as being derived or enhanced by our common humanity, regardless of our individual differences. Workshop participants will also learn simple yet effective ways to enhance their communication skills, including listening and promoting cooperative solutions to conflicts.
